    "Red Rock" 97 C1500 Build

Same exact rims! The PlastiDip on the rims have held up quite well so far, along with the rocker panels. Both bumpers are peeling horrendously though, so I plan on pressure washing them soon and returning them to the original chrome. I'm uploading pics of the current look of the truck now, I'll...

    "Red Rock" 97 C1500 Build

Off of the top of my head here are the modifications made over the years. Upon first inheriting the truck I removed the god-awful chrome running boards, removed the bug guard on the front, and removed the air dam on the front bumper. I put in an aftermarket radio, got custom fit weathertec floor...

1997 GMC Sierra SL 2WD with a 262 4.3L engine, and 4L60E transmission. Little history of the truck to preface the thread.. The truck was sold in 1996 to my Uncle by my Dad was a vehicle salesman at the local GMC dealership. My Uncle used the truck mainly for various errands, all on...

    A/C Help...

Welp, it was the probably the gauge sold with A/C Pro. Checked the pressure with actual gauges and the freon was low like originally thought. After adding some freon it now blows colder than some of my ex's hearts and (hopefully) will last longer than they did. Thank you to everyone who...

    Will do, thanks again.

    A/C Help...

Oh I see, that's a damn good possibility of what it is then. The gauge I used did show the level to be in the low side of the "green area" of the pressure. After just looking the reviews for the product (A/C PRO brand) some people are complaining about the gauges being off. I'll hook up some...

    A/C Help...

Gotcha, thanks for all the help. I'll get a hold of some actual gauges and see where to go from there.

    A/C Help...

To my knowledge it's never been pulled out and cleaned. Would that being clogged cause the issues I'm having? If that's all it is my wallet and I would be very relieved.

    A/C Help...

I put just the gauge from the refill can on it. Had the truck running /w/ air at full blast & on circulation while I checked. That's why I thought it could be the expansion valve since it's sounding and acting like it's low on freon from my past experience with the truck.

    A/C Help...

I did look at it, and they look fine, but take that with a grain of salt since my mechanical knowledge is fairly limited, lol. I've only been learning mechanical work as I go with this truck and the SEVERAL mechanical issues I've had on the patrol cars I've used in my career.

    A/C Help...

Now that you mention it I do hear the A/C kicking on and off real quick under the hood while it blows warm air. It's only taking around three to five minutes now for the A/C to begin blowing warmish air while idling. Edit: Forgot to add that the clicks it makes when that happens is abnormal...

    A/C Help...

Not sure, it was replaced by a mechanic shop and I don't remember being told the brand. Any place on it I could look to find out?

    A/C Help...

I never had that issue before replacing it with the Dorman part; however, the issue also didn't start until a few weeks after installing the Dorman part.
