Ya.. it's still going.. just had it out this morning.. the paint is getting chipped from the tires throwing rocks.. but whatcha gonna do.. Tks.. As I mentioned.. I still enjoy it.. Lately .. I'm into another project.. this time it's a 67 C10.. 2wd stepper..

Mounting pads/supports for stepside.

I hear ya.. most definitely ... I never did put those aluminum rails on mine.. they were for more or less tying stuff into the bed... not for taking the place of the original rails.. for that.. I cut rails off a fleet side ... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Installing Headers and Dual Exhast

most modern day headers have a bung for installing an O2 sensor.. or specify such when ordering a set... I have a set of shorties on my 454 powered step side.. and don't have any issues.. in fact I'm getting 12 mpg with it... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

the upper control arms are different between 1/2 & 3/4 ton.. 3/4 being about 2"'s wider.. the bracket on the psgr side front diff is longer than the 1/2.. and front wheel bearings and CV shafts are totally different as well.. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Ideally what I should of done was toss the 3/4 springs and used the 1500s... I only had single shocks in my ol Sq Bdy.. as I had 4 of them.. and still have 3 in the bone yard ... live n learn..[emoji6] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I have done this swap.. quite successfully ... the ride is much better than a SAS... and that was the goal.. as I had a Square body that rode like a tank ... especially since my ride wasn't going to be off roaded hard like I did with the Sq Bdy... if you check my thread in off road builds...

I was out at a guy I know who scraps vehicles for something completely different than for my Chevy. Though, I spied a 94 diesel that had taken a devastating front end hit that probably put it in the scrap yard. When I looked inside.. low n behold it had the red interior like the mongrel...

Smooth stepside bed rail?

I've done just that when I grafted in rails from a fleet side. I used mar glass (fine fibreglass filler) then I use regular body filler to finish ... it won't crack.. but it will shrink.. because of the amount needed to fill that space in ... so leave it for a month or so before trying and...
