Wanting to lower a 2wd c1500 and looking for suggestions

These are the current Belltech shackles I have that were installed by previous owner. I assume this is a 4" drop shackle cause the rear eye of the leaf is close to touching the bottom of the bed. About an 1" or just under an inch from the bed. If this is a 4" drop shackle then I'm guessing the...

With a 2/4 drop does that change the geometry of suspension or will it be plug and play with remaining stock components and will I need to change out the current shocks? Would that be a 2 inch coil drop or spindle drop? I understand what you're saying with the skirts as they also cover up...

Speedway for all, trim rings and center caps. The center caps can get pricey at around $20 each for hard plastic. Once in a while one will go missing. Not sure if they're getting pulled off from time to time or if one goes sailing off..

You're correct. These wheels are aftermarket that replicate the 70s

I kinda figured I'd hit with 15's but wasn't 100% sure..thanks Was wanting to stay with the 15's honestly. I recently saw one with a 3/5 drop. Has 255/60R15 x 8 up front and 295/50R15 x 10 on the rear. Also has 3" drop springs (belltech) and 4" lower leaf spring with 1" drop shackles with...

I'm really new to this lowering the suspension thing. I know it's been around for years, I just don't know enough to make the leap without some guidance. I do all my own work (mechanical and body), so I'd like to do this myself. I also know there's several ways to skin a cat on lowering. I'd...

Prothane vs rubber body mount bushings

Also for anyone that's planning to use the urethane bushings they SHOULD have the metal collar for the frame mounting hole. They are available thru a few places at around $110 std cab and $130 ext cab. Those $90 ones found on ebay or Amazon, like my pic that show having the collars, STAY...

Prothane vs rubber body mount bushings

That's what I'm seeing in the pictures. A metal collar of sort. Thus leaves me wondering if they should be there for it's protection on the frame.

Prothane vs rubber body mount bushings

No metal sleeves, that's possible. Even the first set I received, red in color, showed what appeared to be a metal sleeve around the base of all the upper bushings. I was assuming these sleeves gave the bushing protection from shaving the sides that sat inside the frame mount brackets

Prothane vs rubber body mount bushings

Absolutely not set on urethane. Only bought the urethane do to LMC on back order on the rubber. May have to keep the old until I can find new rubber bushings.

Prothane vs rubber body mount bushings

Nah, the urethane cab bushings, front and rear are the same. Only the radiator support are different. The OEM rubber bushings are different in size in relationship to the urethane. Thus the problem. Correct, LMC are on back order which is why I went in this direction with urethane.

Prothane vs rubber body mount bushings

Lmao... didn't think I needed to state year, make, model or engine size since the factory bushing mounts were the same use on all 88-98, they did not vary regardless of year, make, model or engine size. Next, I did do my homework as the hardware is only the bolts and the round plates. Hardware...
