Oil pump pickup pan install 4.3L V6

I looked at that tool also, I couldn't swing the cost. I was just lucky both my active brain cells were firing when I tried the O2 sensor socket. Your signature is, as my friend from the UK would say is "Spot On"!

Oil pump pickup pan install 4.3L V6

1998 C1500 WT 4.3L I was having a deuce of a time getting the pickup pan (3/4") into the oil pump (Melling). I saw a YT video about this and one of the commenters mentioned using a split collar to facilitate installation. I'm not sure if anyone else has done this, I used an O2 sensor socket to...

Newbie in need of advice again.... Already! (Coolant leak)

If it's the water pump, like others said get new. If it were me, it would be hoses, thermostat, cooling system flush, and metal tank radiator (not sure on availability). Anyway that's what I did. Yours is a V8? do they have a quick disconnect connection on the intake? Mine was leaking, and when...

What did you do to your street truck today?

My 1998 C1500 recently got Bilsteins on all four corners. Not a difficult job. I think the fronts had been replaced, the rear shocks were worn out.

    Suspension Upgrades

Wait! RAG joint? I didn't know I had one!!!! Holy O Smokes! I think you just put me on track to correct the free play in the steering wheel for my 98 C1500. Sometimes insomnia is a good thing. And I was here looking for insights on front and rear shocks for a stock C1500. Thanks!

    Calling all single headlight owners

This is my 1998 C1500 WT 4.3L 5 speed. It has an aftermarket grille. I painted the thing when I installed a free to me non dented front bumper. When I got the truck it was dented, and I lived with it for years. I mentioned this to a friend of mine and he donated the one in the photo.

    Fuel Starvation.

ACDelco. Did this job recently. So far, so good. I did notice the new pump is much quieter than the old one during priming.

    Bad fuel pump?

My fuel pump gave me a single heads up it was going to fail. Leaving a shopping center the truck had a long crank time, started up and never made it out of the shopping center parking lot. The engine shut down. Restarted with another long crank.Drove a short distance home. Parked it in the...
