    96 Suburban K1500 wandering

My burb started doing the cupid shuffle after the passenger side lower ball joint crapped out. If you point the truck straight on the highway, it'd be fine then all of a sudden turn slightly left or right depending on how it felt, then took it would take a more than usual amount of tiny steering...

    Solder vs crimps

What are everyone's thoughts on stuff like this? Solder Heat Shrink Connector Basically there's solder built into the heat shrink tubing so the solder melts as the heat shrink does. It seems like the best of both worlds when you don't have enough space to crimp, not enough skill to solder...

    5.7 vortec vs 5.3l or 6.0 swap

I'm no environmentalist or nothin', but wasn't there something to do with CAFE? I mean sure the 5.7 doesn't drink much more than the 5.3, but when seen as a whole picture of all the trucks produced with a 5.7 vs. 5.3, those MPGs saved will definitely add up. My guess is even though the 5.7 might...

    1994 chevy suburban sle

Beautiful suburban. Sorry to derail the thread, but what size and brand cowl hood is that? I've never seen a cowl hood look that good on a suburban before and was planning on going with a cowl hood in a few years to replace my bent OEM one (hood flew up on me goin 45 MPH about a year ago).

    Best Vortec Distributors?

Stay away from Summit. Bought a Summit branded distributor from them and it was defective. Costed me more than it was worth to have the shop install it, find out it was defective, remove it, and re-install my factory one. Oddly enough, my factory distributor hasn't acted up since (knock on wood).

    Brand New Questions, First Post

Welcome to the forum! Here's a couple videos that should hopefully be of use: Oil Pump Replacement (on a 4x4): Electrical Draw: As far as the PS leak goes, degrease/clean the power steering system and the surrounding area, top it off with PS fluid and add some oil UV dye. Drive it for...

    Disc brake upgrade

Speaking as a person who's installed their rear disc caliper conversion, I'd have to respectfully disagree with this statement: I believe the rear disc conversion kit is more of an aesthetic thing rather than a functionality mod. I saw little to no improvement after installing the kit and going...

    eBay Billet Distributor Reviews

That's gonna be a nice change of pace not having SMOG and visual. We actually just moved out of the bay last year as well. Used to be in San Ramon but moved more towards Camino. We were contemplating moving out of state, but couldn't leave the weather and features California has to offer (being...

    eBay Billet Distributor Reviews

Since you're moving to TX, as a bandage fix you could use this: then do what @BeXtreme mentioned when you're settled in. I haven't had any luck with aftermarket distributors. Bought one off Summit and it was bad right out of the box. Couldn't tell until it was installed of course... costed me 2...

    GMT400 Picture Game!

Snapped a diff cover bolt after torqueing it to spec (30 ft-lbs). Took this cover off numerous times and always go by feel when tightening the bolts but decided to give the torque wrench a shot. First and last time I will ever use a torque wrench on my diff cover bolts. Your 400 getting a wash
