I know this thread is old, but recently revived. Here's mine on 37's. SuperDuty 60 on 2003 SuperDuty springs. I did another 97 Burb using the Chevy 73_87 springs and it rode like a tank, but I think the weight if the Cummins might have had alot to do with that.
Yeah, on my first Suburban/5.9 swap that I did in 2011, I never did get ac back up and running. I just got this 2nd one on the road, and momma laid down the law...gotta have AC. What a pain in the arse getting the dual ac system together. It eats up a lot of real estate on the pass side of the...
Hmmm...I don't know much about the air/water setups. I did recently see one on one of the 12valve forums from Facebook. Guy was doing a 12valve swap and was taking all the AW stuff off...he wasn't going to use it. I suspect his 12v might have come from a piece of heavy equipment.
Hey, this swap is my second time around on a 97 Suburban. The Superduty 60 was a bigger job, and neither was the job that my son's 93 S10 was. Shoehorning a 5.9 Cummins with compound turbos in an s10 is a real job!
Two pics above show the cutout for the 2nd gen radiator. I did have a good pic of the core support with the grille off....but I can't find it.
But yeah, the core vertical supports get cut out and then rebuilt.
My wiper washer tank came from a diesel pickup, maybe a 94 I think. In my first Suburban build I went 11 years with no windashiell washer as I had to lose the tank under the batt tray.
I also no longer have antilock brakes. I did away with all that stuff when I swapped in the 1 ton Ford...
In the above pic you can see what I had to cut from the composite headlights adjusting mechanism. That's a left and right, sitting alongside an uncut assembly.
I do still have the cut ones if you want them. Mounting those would show you where my IC locates.
Now, I have heard guys say that they...
35.....yes, my whole engine/trans/tcase, rad, ic,....everything....came from a 1995 3500 dually.
That being said, your 1 ton may have some differences....most notably in the frame.
