Update: today is a bit warmer, and it’s sat for a day. Did not mess with it anymore, suddenly the clutch pedal is back to normal. Which means just the tiniest bit of sponginess at the top, but it’s functional
Hey guys, need to revive my own thread a little here. I’ve been driving the truck fairly regularly, but the clutch has never been perfect. Some days it’s better than others. Typically if it’s a little more spongy I just pump the **** out of it and then it’s fine for the rest of the drive. But...
I’ve considered swapping a newer front diff in because I swapped in a 4.10 11.5 AAM from an 03 8.1 truck. But I already have the 9.25 front diff so I’m not sure what, if any, upgrades would be had
So what brand do you suggest?
Also, I see a few on rock auto listed as only fitting vehicles that have already been upgraded from thermal to electric. Is it just saying that because of the adapter harness? Or is there something else?
I can’t remember which one is different, I think it’s the indicator light switch, but one of the plugs is different from the 97 to the 95. Like the difference from a square big white plug to a little two wire oval shape
It looks like I need dorman 600-600 and 600-101 to do the full electric actuator upgrade. I haven’t had a chance to check fuses or anything since I made this post so I’ll do that when I get off work tonight. But I want to do the upgrade either way
It looks like both of my trucks have the thermal actuators because the have the weird looking rubber sleeve on them. I took the actuator out of the 97 and tried to put it in the 95 diff and it wouldn’t fit. It was like the rubber sleeve was a little too big
How can I tell which is which? I tried to find threads on the conversion but had no luck. The search thing on here kind of sucks. Either that or it’s an ID10T error lol
Hey all. I’ve just got my truck back on the road after a drivetrain swap and I’ve gotten stuck in a barely wet yard twice in 24 hours now. My 4x4 isn’t working at all. It’s a floor shifted unit behind a stick shift. No light on the floor even. Low or high. The transfer case is out of a 97, the...
Thanks for the recommendation. I went ahead and ordered it yesterday after I responded. I figured it’s only $15 so even if it doesn’t fit I could put it on the shelf for a future project
Update: I’ve got the clutch pretty much dialed now that I put the new master cylinder on with the larger bore. Not sure if the larger bore was necessary, but apparently my old master cylinder was just tired. I can now put the truck in gear and hit the key and it doesn’t move. It needs bled just...
I’m honestly not sure guys. I messed with it a little today while rearranging garage ****, and the pedal seemed like it was starting to get a little feel in it. I’m gonna let it gravity bleed and keep an eye on the fluid while I make my throttle cable bracket for the sniper EFI
