Edge Insight CTS3 into a 98 OBS Gas

Interestingly enough, no. I remain unclear if the CT3 will work. My intuition is it would but given my remote location, I am not prepared to risk purchase and return process to try it

Alpine UTE 73BT - user can't figure out new interface/control

Thank you for this - I should have reported back that I think I figured it out and its goofy. You are correct - hit the rotary knob but what is goofy is it isn't clear where it drops you in at (I think it is at the Album level) then you have to 'back' up to the artist level if you want to change...

Edge Insight CTS3 into a 98 OBS Gas

I have been busy, like most people :-). I am curious about value of units like the edge vs what an old phone and a bt obd reader can provide… just seems odd to ‘permanently’ mount a phone in a vehicle…. Hope others weigh in! Cheers!

Edge Insight CTS3 into a 98 OBS Gas

Hello stranger! :-) I hope this finds you well. I currently run several BT OBD2 to phone/tablet but was looking for something that might be purpose built and would mount cleanly to the pillar....

Edge Insight CTS3 into a 98 OBS Gas

I am looking to monitor stuff a little more closely. I had a look around and couldn't see this type of device being discussed in a gas application. The company states it won't work with my 98 but I can't understand that given the basic OBD2 connectivity. Has anyone installed one of these in a...

Help me Wheels Spacer fitment on my c2500 suburban 1996

I just want to add a consideration though I appreciate the OP states he has a c2500 - GM for several years put 2wd rear ends in 4wd vehicles resulting in a track difference of nearly 4 inches - maybe there is a similar track issue with the C series, I don't know. I put steel spacers in my truck...

    Show me your front ;p

Glad to hear you are well. Bummer - I think I have a vacuum leak I have to chase - won't hold idle when you move to reverse from park.... The joys of old vehicles and new ones

    Show me your front ;p

Thanks - I hope this finds you well. I will be changing the front end to go back to a black grill insert and incandescent turnsignals. The LED turnsignals don't defrost in the winter - no heat :-)

    Interior lights wont turn off

Agreed - but of what ? The door switch plungers such that they give a false open and energize the lights? Or the relay itself - both are possible and difficult to reproduce/test :)

    Interior lights wont turn off

You may have given me something to try - my interior lights come on when it gets below -10C. Been a 3 year mystery. Maybe one of the 'relays' is afraid of the cold ...

High-End Vehicle CD Receivers Going Away?

Thanks for this info. I took the 149 out and replaced it with the 73 - maybe I should reverse that decision :) Need to go away and research the the feature set again. No laughing, but I put the 73 in to get a more modern and hopefully better BT phone operability. yet with equivalent audio...

High-End Vehicle CD Receivers Going Away?

Question - can someone tell me if the Alpine head units are significantly different in terms of performance - ie UTE73BT against the HD149BT - is the 73BT just a mech less 149BT? Does Alpine's numbering sequence imply better specs in the 175 vs the 149 vs 73? Thank you
