    92 K2500 Revival

Going to sub to this one. I have a 1990 K2500 with a Blueprint 383 and currently a Fitech 400 HP throttle body, but I really want to do TPI. This Fitech TPI system has me seriously considering jumping in. I already have the fuel system and stock engine harness modified for aftermarket EFI...

    Bench seat to 60/40

I put a 60/40 seat from the later 90s into a 1990 K2500 RCLB a few years back. The outer brackets for both sides bolted right up. I had to mark and drill out the holes for the inner brackets. On the passenger side, the rear of the inner bracket had to be cut down to sit normally over the...

    Reworked 6.5L pipe dream

Yeah that's kinda how it works. Spreads the inner diameter of the tube out into an oval to make a tighter bend, like a cobra head.

    Reworked 6.5L pipe dream

Cobra head elbow. Only thing I could get to fit to make the bend into the intake. It flows pretty well actually, but I'm not sure I want to have the water heat exchanger under the truck.

    Reworked 6.5L pipe dream

I was working on an intercooler, think I'm going to change direction to WMI for now.

6.5 turbo diesel dead. Now what?

I'm kinda liking the 6.5 for now. It's a different beast than a Cummins or Powerstroke, but that needs to be accepted before owning one. Their flaws can be corrected and can get some decent power and utility out of them. Deleting the vacuum system and installing a spring Watergate actuator is a...

    Reworked 6.5L pipe dream

Haha sorry, I've done a lot of digging into the technology since I got the idea to try a VGT turbo. Wanted to do something different than the regular Holset or specialized Quadstar turbos. John at Quadstar was actually the one that built the hard parts to adapt the HE351VE to the 6.5L. It was...

6.5 turbo diesel dead. Now what?

    Oops, I meant LBZ.

    Reworked 6.5L pipe dream

VGT is an interesting development for the old six five. Restricted exhaust flow on the bottom end to ramp up turbine speeds, then open up for more efficient boost pressure production on the top end. I never see more than 16-18 psi of drive pressure with the pedal floored, empty or towing...

6.5 turbo diesel dead. Now what?

If/when my 6.5L gives it up (only has 113k miles, so it may be a while) I will go with a Duramax. Preferably an LB7 or earier to avoid DEF and some emissions garbage. The engines themselves are pricey if you can find one in good shape, low miles, ECM and complete harness and transmission...

HEAVY DUTY TIE ROD OPTIONS FOR GMT-400 Are slim & None in the after market

Correct. I have a box of Proforged steering parts on the shelf in my garage waiting for the snow to melt to be put on the truck. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Nv4500 factory in a 92 k1500!!

I had at 1995 K1500 RCSB with a factory NV4500 as well. I wish I wouldn't have sold that truck.

HEAVY DUTY TIE ROD OPTIONS FOR GMT-400 Are slim & None in the after market

I have been thinking about building a set of heim joint based steering links. Use HD greasable heims on either side, and put some bends in the tube to keep forces linear on the heims, with some gussets in the bends for strength so they don't flex. If I only had the fab skills and tools...

    NV4500 sources?

I have a truck I'm trying to sell. It's a 1990 K2500 RCLB with a 383 crate engine and NV4500 transmission. Both are super low miles, barely broken in since new and rebuild. Not running at the moment because I'm finishing a FiTech conversion from TBI, but all that is left is getting the timing...

1995-99 GMT400 Gauge Cluster Bulb Sizes

Did you use bulbs with diffusers? I put LED's in the cluster in my 2005 Trailblazer, and it has hotspots like crazy. I would want to prevent that with this one.
