    Nv4500 clutch advice

Finished up a solid flywheel conversion this morning. Went with a reasonably priced Perfection kit from Rockauto. The truck only rolls about 150 miles a year around the farm so I think it will be good enough for me. Only hiccup was the front flywheel cover plate rubbed the new flywheel and...

    Nv4500 clutch advice

I finally got everything pulled apart this morning. This truck has a dual mass flywheel so I’m guessing the spring shrapnel must have worked it’s way out of the flywheel. The pilot bearing was also shot but the amount and type of material I found in the bell housing don’t seem to be from the...

    Nv4500 clutch advice

1992 K3500 6.5/NV4500 Had a horrible noise from the clutch area. Pulled the front cover off the bell housing and fished this out . The transmission was shifting with no issues, but I’m a assuming this is part of a spring from the clutch plate itself. I plan on ordering a clutch kit in the...

    NV4500 through the years

A 94 would have a external slave that mounts to the bell housing. I don’t think you can change it to an internal without some machine work even if you have a later model bell housing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    4L60E 4WD to 2WD Conversion

I don't think that would be a factor in 1995. I could be wrong. Sent from my SCH-R970 using Tapatalk

    4L60E 4WD to 2WD Conversion

Btw, keeping the transfer case will give you the option to use low range if needed. Sent from my SCH-R970 using Tapatalk

    4L60E 4WD to 2WD Conversion

The front drive shaft bolts on, either to a yoke or a flange. Nothing to plug. I'd agree with going that route if the transfer case is in good condition. Sent from my SCH-R970 using Tapatalk

    hitch

For me the B&W lives up to the hype. I'd say I hook onto at least 20 different bumper pull trailers on a regular basis. Sometimes 3 or 4 different trailers a day. Being able to change the ball size and hitch height in seconds is a big time saver. I do carry a pintle just in case I need it...

    Front diff problems help

The shim between the clutch gears will eventually fall when the axle gets pulled out far enough. It will then block the clutch sleeve from sliding across and you'll lose 4wd. Sent from my SCH-R970 using Tapatalk

    hitch

I've got a B&W tow & stow. I'm pretty happy with it. I buy their products when I can because the factory is close to where I live and I know several people who work there. That Rhino looks pretty sweet. The single pin adjust looks like it would be easier to use. Although I like having the...

    Another 4wd actuator issue, kinda

    Actuator wont engage posibly?

The actuator on the front end is what you want to check first. A manual shift transfer case doesn't doesn't have an actuator. You may not have a light on the dash either (I've never seen one on a manual) just the light on the shifter. Unplug and unscrew the actuator. Plug it back in and...

    Transfer case stupid question thread

No chain in the front end. I can't think of anything that would grind if the truck is stationary and in neutral when you put it in 4hi. I've never known a bad actuator to make noise, but that's where I'd start. Just unscrew it from the housing and check it's function while it's out. Should...
