    Computer swap vs. scan tool

    My 0411 has the trucks VIN programmed into it. Using a Tech 2 scan tool I have to select a 2002 for it to recognize the computer, but the VIN shows correctly.

    I completed my 0411 swap today. I couldn’t get the relearn to work until I selected 2002 8.1 as the powertrain option relearn was successful on first attempt. No other issues or DTCs.

    Is there a place in the tech 2 to see the speed the PCM is sending to the speedometer? Mine is off quite a bit. I’ve verified the tire size is correct; couldn’t find where I could verify the gear ratio though. Thanks

    Yes, the CEL works. It comes on then goes off. Code reader shows no codes.
