Ok I think I finally found the problem. I put a new pigtail on the TSP and ran new wires to the ECM for the TPS. And so far it's running good and shifting smoother than it ever has
It's bidirectional. I've used on other GM's, Jeeps, and even a Volvo does not happen on any other vehicle. I've also tried just a code reader something. I don't remember what brand it is. It's from Harbor Freight.
Ok I have a 97 k3500 and every time I plug in my scanner and turn the key on the radio completely resets. I've never had this happen on any other vehicle I've use this scanner on. So I don't think it's the scanner. Is there something that connects the two besides the fuse box.
I know it been awhile since I last posted. But you know life gets in the way. So I put a new pcm in it and got codes P0785, P0740, and tps code. The power wire for the transmission plug was already replaced from previous owner. So I put the old pcm back in and all but the tps code went away. It...
Sorry it took so long but u finally got the fuel pump in. The motor is running better now, but I think I'm having transmission issues. It shifts fine but occasionally if I step on it it just won't kick down. It picks up speed just not very fast.
Ok I finally got a chance to work on the truck. Replaced the switch wire on the the starter. It seems to run a little better so I decided to check the fuel pressure again while it's running at idle it was at about 46lbs. So question is that to low or about right. I can't seem to find a spec on it.
I didn't ohm it for ground. I didn't think 11.7v was bad for a 12v system.
Not sure what the knock count is I'll have to check it when I get off work.
But from power wire on the icm plug to ground on the battery was reading 11.7v with key on engine off
I went from the ground wire on the icm plug to the positive side of the battery to see if I had ground. Key on engine off.
I have no idea how old the O2 sensors are.
I don't want to spend the money to change it over, but I have to get the truck up and running soon and that is an option.
