    How to identify rear differential

Well, actually I'm wanting to get all the parts needed for a complete rear brake rebuild (Rotors, Calipers, Pads, Inner seals) on my 1992 P30/32 based motorhome before I begin to tear into it. How do I identify what differential I have? I'm fairly sure it's a Dana but still need a way to...

The quote was for new manifolds on both sides, new mounting studs (several are currently broken) and new down pipe mounting bolts, studs and Oring gasket. The new manifold comes with mounting gaskets between head and manifold and are required to maintain warranty. Labor is the highest...

Well, just got word from the RV shop. Looks like both of the exhaust manifolds are cracked. They're estimating total cost of replacement of both sides with new manifolds, gaskets and bolts to be around $2200. Could be worse I guess but still a pretty pricey repair.

    Engine swap

Most will warranty the Most will warranty the engine but not any labor even if self-installed. Agreed though that you really must look at the warranty details. One thing for certain... If you do the rebuild yourself, then the warranty is whatever you make it. ;)

    Oil Choice

I've used Mobile 1 10w30 or 5w30 in all of my Gm vehicles since1987. Never had one go less than 300,000 miles. Many other issues but never an oil related one. Oil changes were always done at 5K miles. I know it's over-kill but the results have been good so far.

    Engine swap

In my humble opinion, I'd go crate engine and do the install myself. You get an engine that has a warranty. You can pick the engine that best suits your need. you won't need to do anything other than pull the old engine, install the new one and get a tune as needed. Much lower risk and...

The ole girl has been dropped off at the RV repair center. Now just waiting on what the diagnostics says and then decide what to do. I hate to let it go but it's hard to see me putting $10k into it at this point. Keep you fingers crossed for me that it's something simple and not a bad rod...

Fuel module replacement part for C3500

Ben, Any further update on the newest module that I sent you with all the reverse voltage protection? So far others have reported no issues found.

Hope it's the case. Thanks for the encouragement. With any luck I'll be posting "problem fixed" and it was any easy repair. If it is a manifold problem, I may go ahead and upgrade the exhaust system while doing the repair. Banks Engineering does a great job with their class-A chevy intake...

My MH is slotted to be dropped off for evaluation on Thurs. Dec. 16th with Apalachee RV Center. They said they would credit any diagnostics costs to the repair if I go through them for repair.

That engine looks good, but fitment of accessories is critical for my application. The AC compressor is high mounted. There is no serpentine belt system either. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but it's currently a Gen V block and heads as a 1992 TBI model. Not sure of the complexity of...

Please let me know where a "factory rebuild" can be purchased for $3500. As for the labor costs, motorhome facilities charge much more per hour due to the complexity of removal and installation on a class A motorhome. Typical labor charge is $148/hr with the removal and installation being...

Hoping it's an easy fix as well but a little concerned. Engine replacement cost for labor would be around $3000 plus the cost of the engine. Jasper engine would be another $5800 so I'm looking at nearly $9000 if the engine is toast. Don't think the rod bearing could be replaced while the...

Yes, it does but is not needed. No emissions test required due to weight and age.

OK, looks like I'll be looking for a set of long tube headers. Assuming that the engine sound turns out to be only an exhaust leak. Will have a look at it over the next few days. In order for me to get a good clean look at the condition of the manifold I'll have to jack up the MH and remove...
