12 valve swap.

Yes,those are the best years,they have the good (P) fuel pump. Very easy to make 300 + hp with just doing simple things to the fuel injection pump and that about 900ft lb of torque.

12 valve swap.

It was easy for me,never removed the core support,only pulled the diesel out once to cut some material off the trucks engine mount bracket.There are tons of info on the web for these swaps. I have an extra set of new mounts for 88-99 2-4wd for sale if anybody is interested

Check the big wiring plug on the left side in the rear to see if its not installed backwards,

Bought the adaptor and adaptor flexplate from Summit $1k.using a eztcu controller but going to swich it out for something else in the future.

I have about 2k miles on my 88 c3500 2wd dually 5.9 12 valve conversion.I too am running a 4L80E transmission.Even with 4:10 gears it's still getting 15mpg,my truck has the oddball Dana 70HD-3 rear axle that the aftermarket don't make gearsets for so I'm in the middle of building a 14 bolt rear...

88 dually,mechanical restoration.

Installed this Flexalight 280 fan setup and tried for a couple weeks to make it work but in the Florida heat you just cant beat the stock clutch fan.Too much of a draw om my electrical system even with a 200 amp alternator.So I'm back to a clutch with a 11 blade plastic fan,works excellent.Next...
