You won't. I have no idea WTF he is on about.

Me neither. He's built engines for his stock cars back when we lived in the Midwest, so I wanted to see if he though it'd be worthwhile...obviously he's not keen on the idea; plus he's more of a fan of just leaving things bone stock.

I hope I can snag a diesel bumper soon. I really don't want to fork out $200 for one from LMC truck.

Trust me, I've looked;
LKQ several times, Pull a Part, local yards. I ran into one guy at a salvage yard who was going to GIVE me a loaded diesel bumper for free, never called me back. I was going to buy one for like $75 a couple weeks ago but I blew the radiator out, guy never texted me back.

I know as soon as I buy off LMC, there'll be 4 or 5 every time I go to the junkyard again!

Had a little discussion with my dad about putting headers on my truck; he asked my why I would go to all the trouble, explained possibly warping the valves from the rapid dissipation of heat and such; would I really run into any issues with the engine's internals if I ran headers??
I tried researching to see if anyone with a 454 ever caused damage to the engine by running headers but I couldn't find anything.
In my opinion there would be no way you would warp any valves due to rapid heat dissipation. Of course there will be a little less heat but not like it would be a rapid cool down. I have run headers on my truck for 18 years now but it’s a 350. Don’t see why Cubic inch would make a difference though.

Little late on the response but figured I would add my 32cents since I have run headers for so many years.
