I put a dual speed single fan on my truck from a ford minivan from the junk yard. Works excellent, fit the stock rad pretty well

95 rcsb, L33 5.3, hot cam, frost tune, 5spd, 4/6

Upgrade your alternator when you do it or you will watch your volt gauge bounce around every time the fans kick on. I did not do this when I converted to electric and I got worse mileage due to the alternator load up. This was with dual LS1 fans even. The cooling performance was fine, actually more consistent overall. The truck tended to warm up a tad quicker, didn't have the fan clutch drag on initial startup which was nice, and tended to stay warmed up all the time. I've since converted back to the belt driven setup. Alternator is happier, my 2-3mpg is back and the truck tends to run cold around town anytime other than the dog days of summer. Yes,I have changed the thermostat many times. I have since installed the factory pusher "big block" fan to help the a/c condenser get a little more airflow at idle. Not sure how much it helps really but at least the power draw isn't loading up the alternator so much.

I appreciate the feed back man! I’ll definitely look into upgrading the alternator once I get an idea on the fan set up.

Anyone know of any good setups to run a single or dual slim fitting fans that fit really flat up tight by the radiator? I'm researching this mod as well and want to gain some working room in the engine bay. Getting rid of the bulky stock fan and shroud sounds delicious lol.

Mark VIII fans are pretty slim, and it isn't hard to fab up really simple brackets to hold it to the core support. I put one in and gained a few inches of room.
