Since curb weight is the weight of a vehicle without passengers or cargo but with all of the components needed for the vehicle to properly function including coolant, gas, oil and other standard equipment. Make sure all your fluids are full, have it towed to a dump with scales (so you don't use any gas) and weigh it, without you in it.

Yeah, certified scales are your best bet.

FWIW, my 1995 C2500 standard cab, long bed, 350, 4L60E is 4400 pounds. That's with no cargo, no driver or passengers, and all fluids (including gas tank) full.

I had found this at 4770..
xcab, but with auto.

my manual xcab 305 is at 5000-5100, steel has been done 3 times on the cab, all cross sills are beyond doubled, tire crossmember was used as a skeleton to add twice as thick, frame lamination.
Even swapping to ten ply load range E is a surprise in gain.
leaf helpers.. those stay at the weight as the package they came in.

My front cross sill is 23 pounds.. twice over factory sheet metal and many many times over factory density.
this may be 200 on a scale

it is easier to gain weight.. any steel added at framing can end up twice as much as it is a piece laying on the ground. A density of physics.

I started with 105 pounds laid out on the ground, as i knew this game already.. I weighed stuff like setting up a race car.
in the truck, it went way beyond.
especially framing.

anyway, a scale is a good thing to have it checked on, if you made changes.

We used to keep track of weights of vehicles for testing we did our g- tech. If my memory serves me tonight, the weight of a extended cab, 4 wd, half ton silverado was 5260 on a commercial set of scales.

5260 sounds about right for my truck I was just messing around and wondered what the weight difference between a extended cab 4X4 90's truck weighed compared to the new 2017/2018 double doors was.

My 98 ECSB 4X4 1500 5.7 4L60 8.5" rear stock was 5120 with a full tank. I imagine it's 5500#+ as it sits today.

Try looking at your trucks title, many states list the curb weight on them for registration purposes.

My 1999 K1500 Sub, 100% stock, just weighed in at 5800 at the local Landfill scales. They are County owned so I assume they are calibrated properly
