In old stuff, sure. Looks out of place in newer trucks IMO.

Personally, I like it. It is something that I have thought about. I will say that I don't care for either of the 2 examples above.

I think a step side might work better, and look better. Not the most practical thing to do, but mine is not going to be a work truck or farm truck. I already own those... Play toy.

Being a cabinet maker, I love the look of it. Looks great on show trucks.

I wouldn't do it on anything that I drive, if it's for looks. I might do it on a truck bed that's rusted into oblivion and some lumber makes it more useful.

i put a wood floor in my old 79 k20.. mostly because when i loaded up my old lawn tractor i drove literally through the bed untl it hit the frame. it was made of 2x4s and osb and worked great.
