what kind of tcase would you need to use on a solid axle swap with a passanger drop? and what kind of vehicle could i find one on? lastly what would fit mine? i have a 94 k1500 with auto trans and floor shift tcase

You would want a passenger drop NP241c from a 90-91 K5 blazer with the auto transmission to have the 27 spline input. Basically the identical tcase you have now just with passenger side drop

I have a 1990 GMC K1500,5lm60 5speed and an NP241 transfer case.

I'm going to do a swap to a TH400. From what I've searched out on here so far, the 32 spline count for my t-case should be correct for the TH400? I need one with a 2 3/8" output shaft?

Now for my stupid questions. Since I've read that some of the 3/4 ton trucks came with TH400s will they be a direct fit for my t-case and adapter plate? Did the 3/4 tons have the same NP241 transfer case as mine? Will I be able to make my existing crossmember work? If not, will the cross member from the 3/4 ton work or maybe the crossmember from any 1/2ton auto?

I have a line on a TH400 from a 90 model 3/4 ton if it will work.

If this is all hogwash does anyone have an idea of what truck has the TH400 I need?

noob here, i think this is TC related...

95 chevy k1500 350 TBI 4x4

4wd works great no issues at all
however when accelerating quickly from a stop in 2WD (OD) I hear a grinding noise toward the front of truck sometimes (believe it's happening only in 1st gear - maybe 2nd)
if i let go of gas pedal it goes away, give it gas gently and no noise, give it too much gas again and the noise comes back
i have still been driving it to and from work...just driving it like a grandpa now and so far it hasn't made any grinding noises when i drive it gently
oh yeah and i can hammer on it when im going like 45 and i dont hear any noises
any ideas?

never would have thought that but makes a lot of sense so i just replaced both motor mounts...the labor sucked but the good news is new mounts only cost $9/ea so why not. i'll let you know if it goes away as soon as my new exhaust shows up
