95 350 tbi factory oil pressure specs??? advice to help oil pressure?

I was wondering what the oil pressure specs are for my 95? hot cruising im at about 40 psi and hot idle im at about 15-20 lbs? is this normal? how can i improve my oil pressure untill i get the money for a rebuild or for an engine swap? thanks!

Those are good numbers, any tighter and you will have problems in the winter. But what I do is run 20/50 during the heat of the summer to help out, then switch back in the fall.

Your current numbers are perfectly normal, Most of TBI engines I've seen are right in the area you posted. Your tahoe could of very well had a rebuilt motor that had a High Volume Oil pump installed. My 87' Camaro TBI had a high volume pump in it, and at idle it would be at about 45 psi and cruising it would be 60 - 80 psi.

cool. im still gonna try some thicker oil maybe like 20w50 and see how that helps. i just cant stand looking at my gauge at a stop light and it being that low. seems like almost nothing. like one line below the 1/4 (20lb) mark

you could pull the pan and put in a hi volume pump I do not remember how much is involved in an in frame pan drop, someone on here can chime in on that.

thats normal on a high mileage 350. mines 45-50idle cold and 25-35 idle warmed up and 35-40 warmed going down the road

pointless on a stock engine, the standard is 10lbs of oil pressure for every 1000rpm....his #'s are normal for a high mileage 350....
