Is there a write up on how to upgrade to the electric servo type? I have a 97 Ecsb push button 4wd and its really loud clunking noise when I engage it... Any ideas why? I just got the truck 2 days ago... Any help would be great thanks guys!!!

You can buy the upgrade harness and the spacer that is needed off Ebay. As for the clunking is it when going into 4 hi from 2wd or between 4hi and 4 low?

so I have a 96 k1500 electronic push button 4x4... when I put it in 4x4 if engages ( I can hear the actuator and the front feels as if in 4x4 but it never get power sent to to front diff..never had an issue before I changed the output shaft seal on the c axle? I checked fuses and and un plugged wires..help please!

It's also a front axle question buried in a transfer case thread. Kinda in the wrong thread location...

yes passenger cv seal

When you pulled the axle shaft out of the diff case there is a thrust washer in there that has a tendency to fall. It is preventing that axel shaft from connecting with the diff. You need to pull it apart again, remove the axle housing tube and put the thrust washer back in place (if not damaged) with some grease to hold it there

it feels as if the front wheels are in 4x4 though...how would it pop in to where it should be but not get the washer in? I looked down the tube when I had it apart and I saw the washer aligned..theres no other possible problem?
