i know that there are some examples of random parts that fit in multiple vehicle, and i was just wondering if you could take one thats stronger from another vehicle and somehow modify it to fit

MAYBE....... a suburban or tahoe? not familiar with these trucks yet, but they possibly should be the same, but stronger since they had rear air right?

The Suburbans equipped with rear air HVAC have completely separate blower motors in the very back passenger side. The front blower motor "appears" to be the same.

The part OEM (ACDelco) part number is 19131213. You'll find it on most sites by manufacturer number 15-80665 and comes with the impeller. Amazon has it for about $77. I'm thinking about just replacing mine as Delco recommends doing so if airflow is weak. I can't think of anything else to do as I already cleaned out my core which did help but not enough. I think the only other options are to (1) bump up the voltage to the motor which of course will make it spin faster but will probably lead to early failure or (2) try to source a bigger more powerful motor not initially designed for this applicaiton.

I'm new to this site, just joined like an hour ago. It's possible that the resistor is weak, this can affect the blower performance. It's something to check out.

well i just replaced the entire set up like motor resitor.....everything, still the same, but i was referring to a match like i know you can use a alternator off an 03 escalade in a LS1 f body, its like 145 amp vs 105 amp, and its almost a direct fit, so even if its a newer vehicle

did anybody get around increasing the speed of the weak blower?

I recently overhauled my AC system, with new compressor, condenser, evaporator, etc.

Obviously I kept the OEM blower which I have to run on 3 or 4 all the time, would love to have higher blower speeds.

Before worrying about replacing the blower motor, check the voltage AT the motor, with the fan setting on 'high'. If you don't get full voltage (12v engine off, 13.5-14v running) then you have worn, corroded wiring to blame. Be sure to check the ground for the motor as well. I recently rewired the blower motor on an old dodge van, where the blower motor only saw 11v with the engine on- replaced the wiring and it was like a brand new fan. I recommend #10 AWG wire for the blower fan, though #12 *should* be sufficient.

i wonder if even a blower out of a gmt800 truck would make a difference, id imagine they would need to be stronger becasue they sent air under trhe center consul

This thread is funny. I have thought about this myself many times when I turn the A/C on. It "doesn't blow your face off" like that other guy said. Even with the passenger side vents closed, it blows like others cars will on a medium setting.

I'll have to take enginebuilder's advice and test the voltage and run thicker wires.
