My truck has the stock wheel. But the horn doesn't work because the sprung wire wont stay in he hole, because the little white/clear plastic thing (inside the hole) broke. Does anybody know what the hell its called or have a part number or know where I can get one? I can't even hook up an aftermarket wheel and have a horn because its all based on the sprung wire locking into the hole.

Take a Dremel with a fine bit and cut a new notch for the spring collar to grab on to if you have enough of the while collar left. Even if you have to make the notch 180* off of the original location. Done it a few times it worked for me.

Thanks for the replies,....I guess I'm the only dude in the world without a dremel.

Firefighter, your thinking about something else. I need the plastic retainer that hold this "horn wire lead" in place.....

The black sleeve locks the wire into a clearish/white retainer that in side a hole in the steering wheel hub

By getting creative with the tube and cap from a Bic ball point pen, a razor blade and some thin electrical tape I was able to get my horn working again.

Same thing happened to me today while dealing with a stuck key/ lock cylinder , orange wire won't stay in anymore since the clear plastic broke that holds it in broke almost half way around .....this is an old post....anyone come up with a better solution ? Or a push button on the dash is the next resort.....:893Chainsaw-Smilie-
