right now I only have thing from the 90s I think but as for as things I have own and sold goes as fallows kenwood ka 6004 marantz 2225 wish I would have kept these but need the money at the time had a matching toshiba preamp and tuner an adc ss215 a crown 800 csl a kenwood km 991 I also had a heathkit set ap 1615 preamp and aa 1640 power amp had an onkyo tx 4055 tuner

as of now I am running a proton ap 1000 preamp into an art cleanbox pro to get balanced signal to feed a crown macro-tech 2400 and I absolutely love my cerwin vega re 38s

things I want to buy another art cleanbox pro and ma2400 a kenwood kt8300 or a pioneer tx9500ii/tx9800 or maybe a tx9100 would not also mind getting a hold of a marantz 2230b or a proton d540 my aunt and uncle back home in PA got a sx1250 need a restoration and hpm100 I would like to have them

1995 7.4l so not sure it’s the same as what you’re looking for? There are two “nipples” on the front but the lower one looks to have been snapped off and I don’t see anything that looks like it would have been connected there. Now I’m curious if I’m missing something here.

Found this diagram, looks like the second fitting would go to AIR pump if equipped-guessing plugged if not.

Yes,you are missing something...that rubber 90° elbow connects to the lower nipple to control the fast idle diaphragm on the other side of the throttle body. The top nipple is a vent, when new it will have a small sguare piece of foam attached. Not sure if you see it but that rubber elbow is under the wire loom directly in front of that lower nipple, even if it's broken there might be enough of the nipple left to connect that elbow to....at least give it a try.

Here's what I've experienced with mine, also a '95 7.4l.When cold the vacuum is blocked by that solenoid which allows that diaphragm plunger to extend therefore raising the idle like a choke would do on a carbed engine. At a predetermined engine temp the solenoid is activated and allows vacuum to pass though it from the throttle body and the plunger in the vacuum diaphragm pulls the plunger in and thus the throttle is released to go to the normal idling position. When the idle drops it's usually a sudden ''chop'' of the throttle it can cause the engine to die, noticed when it sitting still when the engine running. Also it won't do this every time.On a normal cold start and letting it warm up a bit and drive off you won't feel this sudden ''chop'' because the engine will be running at a higher speed and the diaphragm plunger wo'nt be touching the thottle shaft.

Most I've typed in a long time, hope this makes some sense :)

Thanks all, that’s the info I was looking for.

and speaking of vintage audio, I used to have a factory water cooled & no art a300, but it was one of many things I had to sell years ago.

The only thing I miss about the Marantz 4300, 3600 Preamp and 510M power amps I've sold are the appearance. I've also become a fan of Crown. The SL-1 is a real sleeper, the best preamp I've heard so far. People may rave about the SL-2, but I'm beyond content with the SL-1. Clear, detailed and accurate. You might also want to pick up some Crown PS series amps, I'm in the process of getting two PS-400's and another PS-200 to quad amp my UREI 813C/JBL B460 combo. I've had a MacroTech amp, 2402. Couldn't take the fan noise and found the highs and upper mids to be a bit grainy, bass wasn't as tight as Crown K series amps either. Gobs of power though and I liked their appearance. Another amp which continues to impress me no matter where I put it is an Adcom GFA-555II. I find the PS-200 to sound better overall than the 555II, but the 555II has more muscle if and when you need it. Also makes for a pretty decent subwoofer amp, although so far nothing has topped the performance of a Crown K1 in that regard for me.
