Hello I have a 94 Chevy c1500 I was wondering how hard it is to do a power door lock swap. Right now I just have a power switch inside that locks the doors but no remote. Can those be programmed? Thank you

The answer is yes.
But.....
If your truck originally had keyless entry (check rpo codes) it will be easy. If it did not it can still be done, it's just more complicated.
Do a search, it's been discussed in depth on this board.

94 didn't have keyless entry.

As for power windows best bet is find a parts truck to pull the inner panel out of the doors the motor is attached too and the harness, then it'll basically be a plug a play swap

I'm confused. You say you have power locks but you want to do a power door swap? Do you mean you already have power locks but you want to add keyless entry?

If so, it's as easy as adding an aftermarket alarm which is probably a good move anyway, though you could save a few bucks and just get aftermarket keyless entry. It's nearly the same amount of labor so you may as well get an alarm. Remote start is pretty easy to setup as well.

Best bet would be to add a aftermarket keyless entry

Okay any suggestions on a good system that won't fail
Any system is only as good as its install, so you want to do it yourself (if you're good with electrical) or only have a trusted shop, with references, do it. Too many installs are done by twist-and-tape jockeys that throw it in there like it's a cheap stereo.

Both our trucks have Viper 4706 alarms that have worked flawlessly year after year. The remotes are even rechargeable on USB cables like a phone. It's a pretty good unit to look at if you don't mind spending a few bucks to have one with the pager remote. There's cheaper options in Viper if you don't want/need the 2-way remote.
