I have spark intermittently, tested 3 different spark plugs. On the third test, the engine started. Went to try again, and no start.

No, just pure starter lol
Did it start and run, or does it not even sputter/pop?

Did you lift the engine to get the oil pan off? If so, did you crush the distributor cap against the firewall? Or perhaps pinch wires for the ignition system when the engine was lifted?

Have you fuel-fouled the spark plugs with all the cranking? Pull the plugs, verify. Maybe crank engine with plugs out, to blow the gasoline out of the cylinders. (Disconnect the ignition and injectors.)

It wont start at all. No sputters, just the movement from the starter. And no lift, I did everything from under the the truck. and I checked most of the plugs, they weren't wet, or discolored, gap was perfect too.

You need to check all of your basics. Things like spark and fuel: fuel pressure gauge and spark tester.

When you removed the spark plugs, did they have any fuel saturation? If they are completely dry of fuel, then that's a hint, but need to check. They'll either smell like fuel or not. That's what @Schurkey was asking...

Basically just treat it like it's just doesn't start and start basic diagnostics (and temporarily forget it did run prior to when you did the oil pan...)

I've narrowed it down to a spark issue. I have like 58lbs on the fuel rail, and the cylinders smell of fuel when I pull the plugs too.

Stuff breaks down no matter how old (or new!) it is...

So you DO have spark at the coil?...sounds like you found the problem then? Can you confirm rotor is spinning when engine is cranking?

Yes it's spinning. I visually verified that by turning it over with the cover off. The timing is set to TDC on NR. 1 cylinder too. What would cause the distributor to just stop putting out a spark all of a sudden? The fuse was good on the distributor cap too.

Don't know... I'm not a fan of distributors for this exact reason: reability.

Just don't tell that to the SBC guys...

Maybe there's something else going on here and it's something else? Dunno.
