I know it will come down to 'it's your truck, you choose!,' but I still feel like asking the question! I am finally deciding to have my truck repainted; some bubbles and surface rust have began to form around the front and rear windshield/backwindow molding, and living close to the coast has been wanting to take care of this sooner rather than later.

That being said, I'm conflicted about colors. I REALLY like the factory two-tone colors. I haven't seen any others like it around these parts, and it gets a lot of compliments.

But, part of me wants to switch to a single color, something like a medium or dark blue. Future plans might possibly include a small lift and different wheels, MAYBE.

What do you think?

Mine was blue originally but, I decided to go a little wild with a metallic blue. #50430 Sherwin Williams base coat, clear coat.

I really like that! That's kind of what I had imagined for mine; the stock two tone is eye-catching, but there's just something about metallic paint that sets it apart.

Yeah, believe it or not, I had it done at MAACO. I had some door dings repaired, a sealer, primer, base coat (2 coats IIRC), and 2 part clear coat (4 coats) for ~$2800. They charge another $800 for a cut and buff. Someday, I may do it or, take it back to them.

Keep in mind MAACO is individually owned, I went down and looked at some of their examples, one of which was a 66 (I think) GTO, beautiful! Even their single stage examples were impressive, no orange peel! YMMV

Another $1000 for trim, grille, front bumper, valance, rear bumper covers, etc and you have a new looking truck :waytogo:

It's an interesting question that will have so many differing responses. When getting mine repainted I wondered about whether I changed colours as I also like a metalic blue but I didn't want to open the bonnet and see a different colour so I stuck with the current colour. But at the same time it felt like I spent all that money and didn't get anything for it as it just looked the same but shinier. Take your time and look at all the trucks online before deciding since you only want to do it once.

I vote for stock colors. Like mentioned above, a complete color change is a pain in the butt. Would have to gut the interior, do door jambs, box off to to cab and bed. You didn't mention a budget. It's a big job. I like the 2 tone, especially that combo.
