So I see people go the opposite direction but I'm actually curious if anyone has put a 88-98 body on a 73-86 frame. IIRC gm did this for the Brazilian market and I find it quite alluring. I've got a 98 exsb with a good body and a 74 rclb with a good frame. Just wonder what y'alls thoughts are on this.

Over a k10 body? Quieter, better insulated, power seats, more room, better steel. Over a gmt400 frame? Less prone to rust, sold axles, and I have one
Solid axles and you having one makes sense. Not sure about the less prone to rust part, but that may be true.
Wasn't being contrary, just curious about the advantages.

If itwas possible, the saddle tanks would negate the alleged strength acquired as you'd need to body lift to clear them.

If it's a solid axle you're after, it'd be easier to SAS the IFS frame than to fabricate body mounts and steering.
Cost wise, it's about 300 for the brackets, plus the axle, plus the new leaf springs and u-bolts, and new wheels. Figure a $G and half for a problem free swap.

Ive got all the **** for a sas. Except a truck to put it on. Lol. My frames been welded back together more than once. I'm rebuilding this k10 from the ground up anyway. And had already intended on using my nv3500/np241 in it with the ford d44 I bought to do a sas.
