This is my 97 gmc c1500 thats under construction. 2" coil springs, 4" spindles, 1" rear shackle, 4" blocks. I have skyjacker shocks otw for the front, i have rc front and rear shocks but debating returning them. Waiting on 1" ubj spacers to come in. Just mounted new cooper discoverer A/T 33"s. Ive got new rocker panels in the garage to weld in at a later date. Been working on her for a few months now, only drove it once to get home.

Been reading page after page here looking for ideas. I tried the 2" spacers to lift the front of my 1500, did not go well installing. Nothing but trouble, gave up after a few hours.
My dad was telling me how he raised the front of his old Pontiac, using spring clamps flipped backwards. Just seems a bit sketchy to me.
I've already put 2" blocks in the rear and like the height difference there, but don't want to feel like I'm driving downhill all the time anymore. Any advice on how to raise the front to compensate? Don't want a 4" lift but I can't find a 2" lift spindle(I know that's the proper way to go).

2" lift spindles do not exist. You can install a coil spacer up front or buy 2" lift springs from someone like Rough Country. Don't half ass it by installing spring clamps backwards, that's just dumb. A coil spring compressor and a jack is all it takes. Don't get me wrong, it's sketchy as f*ck, but that's how you do it. That, or a 2" body lift and a 2" drop shackle in the rear. Gives you the same effect.

I took the strong advice of several people on the forum here and got custom springs made at a local shop to match the 2" blocks in the rear. Very happy with the look and view from riding a bit higher, just gotta figure out how to make the ride a bit more comfy now, speed bumps are miserable

I did buy extended brake lines, because I saw something about that. I'm unsure about the ball joint spacer - I'm seeing 1", 1 1/2", and 2" heights. Which one would be appropriate for a 3" coil spring spacer?

I agree the new control arm would be best option, however it's $550 plus $230 shipping to Hawaii, and that's not in the budget right now. So I'll try the ball joint spacers
What and where are these magical extended control arms y'all speak of? I've had my truck lifted, broke, and in process of rebuilding the upper control arms as I've since snapped them. Looked over a year now and have yet to find an extended control arm.

What spacers did you end up running?

I couldn't get the 3" coil spacer to fit. The spacer fits, but then it was impossible to get the coil spring back into the lower control arm bucket. I gave up on it.
The Rough Country 4" spindle lift kit gave me enough clearance to run 35s on my 2wd. That's good enough for me
