Loaded up the 89 with trash, scrap metal, used oil, and a bunch of rotted wood. I got a 25 foot load trail utility trailer for $200 needing new boards (new boards were almost the same price I paid for it) and had to collect my sisters and my neighbors combined with my trash AND had to scrap what was left of my 1999 C3500's brush guard (was made out of cafe table, exhaust piping, and a big lot's shopping cart). I ended up taking a drive and then came back with the weekly groceries.

Came to leave work today, and I hear a pop, then the engine speeds up to about 4500 RPMs, and dies. WTF. Pop the hood, I see smoke. I thinking electrical. Nope. That canaster poped off, where the PCV valve hose connects on the intake. The hose was all stretched out of shape, but I put it back on, and made it to AutoZone. Got another one, and a new hose. All is good, and my truck is idling smoth. It has been ideling a little rough ( very little) for a long time.

So just an update. The valve part on the intake where the PCV valve, hose connects, is called the PCV valve cover. Also, in my case, the hose that connects to it, was stretched out and leaking. Something I overlooked. One of the very few things, I have never replaced. Real easy to do so, just hadn't done it, didn't realize what it was, and what it does. The new one, has 2 caps over the smaller ports. We don't need those on our trucks.

I replaced the door bushings, installed treasure yard sun visors, swapped out the molded front bumper for a smoothie bumper and finally got around to adjusting my headlights. Also just fought through setting timing with a OBDII dongle and got that set-up right. Next is to find a random noise in the front driver side suspension when I drive over bumps and head back to the treasure yard to pull a dash cup holder out of a good looking 96' suburban.
