what's that "EST"? does it exist on 5.7 too?
Electronic Spark Timing - yes the 5.7L TBIs have it too. The earlier models had the connector in front of the fire wall near the trans dip stick. Later ones had it behind the glove box. Here's where it is on my 88 (Black/Tan) Note: it may be hiding inside that big wire loom.

I found it under the glove box. Did what you guys said (+4* atdc) and it runs beautifully now! I mean great for no tune for build anyways. Thanks for the help! Now for a tune!

I hope you meant to type 4° btdc,or 2 notches to the right of 0°,and not 4° atdc,it should barely run if so.Each notch is 2°. I painted the 4° notch on my dampner so the timing light lit it up well and easy to see.

they say to time it with the EST disconnected. maybe then 4 degrees atdc is correct.
