I had a couple, year old Dormans that the driver side was starting to lose the turn signal/brake. And I had put LEDs in them thinking maybe they'd run cooler and not melt/burn the bulb sockets like the previous seemed to do. I bought a set of complete circuit board and lens that were TYC brand based on good reviews on another chevy truck sites. Neither TYC worked out of the box! To get the passenger side to work I swapped the board connector I'd gotten some years before from a junk yard and had to use my old Dorman board with the new incandescent bulbs that came with the TYC. The driver side TYC board initially did not have a reverse. It finally started working when I pressed the circuit board together firmly between the reverse light and the center bulb. 3 days later it's still working but I'm keeping my fingers crossed! These lights seem ridiculously sh!tty no matter what brand! I've never had any vehicle have this many issues with stupid simple light bulbs!

The OEM boards worked for a decade or more, well, maybe they did after a revision or two. The replacements have always been crap, regardless of brand. :(

Some of the pictures of duralast brand at autozone look like the bulb sockets on the OEM units. I might stop by there and ask to see some. They come with a life time warranty for what that is worth. Maybe between being like the OEM and using LEDs they might actual last my lifetime if not the trucks!

Hmm, I had problems with my 99 boards very early on, so I think late revisions were crappy too.

OP, sorry you're having issues with TYCs, that's what I'm currently running, and have not had issues with them. I actually have the whole TYC light assemblies. I'll admit, I'm not driving the truck a lot anymore, so that could be part of it, too. I just have stock bulbs, not LEDs.

I put my complete OEM housings on the shelf and got these LEDs a couple months ago. I'm happy with them and the price is reasonable. One thing, the hyper flash resistor has to be stuck on the body behind the housing, with its pressure sensitive tape, and has a connector that goes to the housing.

Yeah I've seen those and others that probably would have been a more trouble free option, although I kinda like the oem look better. Granted having working light that you don't have to fiddle fart with every 3-6 months is what really would be nice. But I tend to be a cheap ba$turd that will fiddle fart a long time before I break down and spend enough money to finally make the problem go away!

These are the after market kind someone linked to earlier in this string I like since they look like oem, seem to have more reverse side lighting. They have individual sockets that seem like they might not have circuit board fault issues, especially if cooler LEDs were used.

Are the boards the main reason for sudden turnn signal/brake light issues? I just had this happen yesterday and a new bulb didn't fix the quick blink/no brake light issue. I ordered an off brand off Amazon becsuse it was cheap. Figured I would try it since the socket for that bulb is all burnt.

My issue is that when I apply the brake my reverse lights also come on. Do you think the circuit board could cause this issue?
It's possible. Get a test light, unplug the connector, and make sure that there is no current @ the back up light wire, when the brake pedal is pressed. Then you will know just where the issue is.
