Hi, Just wondering if anyone had any leads on a steering column shroud for a 98 C1500 AT. I've searched ebay, amazon, online parts suppliers, all of my local salvage yards and even called the body shop I do business with and have come up empty. It appears that this is a discontinued product and you can't get it at the dealership as well. Any assitance would be greatly appreciated.

You mean the plastic cover that goes over the tilting portion of the column directly behind the steering wheel?

Paging @Chilledspode...

Didn't we find these on Summit Racing a while back?

Here are three pics. When I purchased the truck, the shroud was just barely attached. There are three broken connection points and the ignition opening was broken open. This was my nephew's handy work. He didn't realize that it has to be removed a certain way or it'll be broken. Pretty frustrating as I can't find one anywhere. Willing to pay for one. When I search summit racing and enter the year and make, it always takes me to a shroud for an impala.

You said you had a dealer look it up at one point, do you have a part number? I know I found it once but I've been digging through my records and I'm having trouble now. Is there a part number stamped into it anywhere?

Yup, I just checked and you're right, it seems like they've both been recently discontinued. The Summit listings are no longer up. Sorry to say but your best option may be a salvage yard. :(

You could check Car-Part or Row52, they index salvage yard inventories across the country.

car-part.com

row-52.com

Also worth mentioning (and this will take some time) but once you've been a member here for six months and made 100 posts you can create a "Wanted" thread in the Classifieds section. Several members here make frequent trips to the yards and may be willing to grab you something from a different part of the country and ship it.

Thanks for all of the info df2X4. I try those sites out and see if I can come up with something. There's gotta be one out there somewhere.
