I think this is a wise decision. 1k is plenty to learn your setup with, once you are consistent with it then you can add more. Consistently getting good power down manageably wins races.

1000 hp is a good enough reason to not change ANYTHING.Well, couple things.... after some consideration I'm gonna leave things alone with the motor! I've done research, tons and tons of math, phone calls, picked peoples brains, and my motor is a solid build. I'm not gonna change the intake, or try to make mechanical changes this late in the build.
Reason being, this is a learning set up! It's gonna make 1000hp at the wheels and that's enough to learn the suspension and software and get it pretty fast.
Thoughts behind that are...... I have a Gen IV 6.0l that i got from a good good friend that owns a salvage yard for a fellow racer and he never picked it up. SO, instead of dumping that motor on my friend, I manned up and bought the motor. I just put it in the back of the garage and didn't really know what I wanted to do with it till now......
It will be built, THE RIGHT WAY!!! That'll be in "The build of Wh4t3v3rs v2.0".
Anyways, hope to get some free time tonight to work. I'll keep you posted!!! Thank you for following along and interacting!!!
hahaha...... RIGHT! you would think!! Unfortunately, if you wanna be competitive on the streets, in the Mid West, with small tires. You better know how to put 1500+hp down to the ground consistently!!!! SOOOO, we will see! I can't do anything more then just build and send the F@*ker!!1000 hp is a good enough reason to not change ANYTHING.
Good luck with whatever you decide to do. I like following your build. Stay safe.hahaha...... RIGHT! you would think!! I am..... the same black that I used on the motor will be used on the frame and such. I'm just trying to get all the fab work done so I'm not repainting a bunch of ****!Are you going to paint the frame, or...?
Ya, but mostly I wanna see how close I was on my set up! Being my first BIG race car, I'm just super curious. I've had quite a few 400-700hp street cars, but first on a big slick.....Kinda like me I am going to push the 350/4l60e til I pop it and then I'll swap the 5.3L in and do what we had been talking about.
I'm in the same boat.Reason being, this is a learning set up! It's gonna make 1000hp at the wheels and that's enough to learn the suspension and software and get it pretty fast.
