as a young teen I raised 3 *****. the first one I put in with a mother cat because it was so damn tiny, like its eyes just opened. it was a female and grew up thinking it was a cat but 5 times the size. one day it tried to kill the cats and ripped up my arm. so it went for a drive. then next year I had a pair of them a bit older and I kept them wild in an outdoor dog run with all the amenities of the wild. I would take them for walks down to the creek so they could catch wild food, crayfish and what not. I did try to feed them wild foods. then one day both of them gained up on me and I acquired some cuts and a bruised ego, so they went for a drive.

keeping wild animals is straight up illegal. we think we are doing them good but we are only interfering with there natural lives and they will never be truly wild. I wish I never raised those 3 no matter how cute they are or were, I screwed up there lives and nature will take its course.

fast forward to now.... I keep poultry and those mother ******* have cost me $1000 of dollars in animals they have killed! so I kill every damn one of them that I see on our property. (which is completely legal with Ontarios protection of livestock and property act.) traps are always set and screw those varmints!

bats in a house can lead to really bad respiratory problems.... call an exterminator and be prepared for one hell of a messy cleanup.

heres a couple pics of some of our animals. they get 3500 square feet of run/coop. semi free range with a pond.... the only grass or vegetation in here is caged, the animals run free. lol. we actually had a lot of birds in the passed wiped out 3 separate times by ***** and a weasel. then we went a few years with nothing but a few tough waterfowl. a couple years ago we went back into it but with the kids help and with way more simple goals of meat and eggs. food for the table.

We have a big old boy racoon with a pretty bad limp and he is going out during the day and doesnt seem to be afraid at all
He seems kinda desperate
He is not shy at all
We also are about overrun with Coyotes and deer.
I am a bit concerned because this racoon is wounded and seems to be fearless.
And animal control wont do anything
Any advice would help.
I think I need to shoot this poor sick boy but I cant.
Seattle gun laws.
Any advice you have will be a whole hell of a lot better than the chump advise I have so far.

discretion is needed, a live trap and then take it for a drive outside of the city limits wherever you can legally dispatch it. I would be very concerned as well. they become desperate and will stop at nothing to stay alive. it was probably hit by a car but survived. moving an animal and setting it free might not be legal. in Ontario you can only move an animal 1Km. this is because you throw it into other animals home ranges and then the problem animal usually just becomes some one else's problem as it gets run out of the area you set it free. I dont relocate animals for this very reason.

coyotes will always be a problem unless they are systematically removed.... by pros with dogs. I'm so thankful that there is a great group of guys around here and coyotes are not a problem. they were never indigenous to Ontario as it was historically wolf territory. then we wiped out the wolves and the ecosystem fell apart from there on out.

good luck.

Just curious, what's the situation if we're talking about air rifles?

You can get a Benjamin or similar break barrel single shot pellet gun with a scope that will launch a .22 caliber pellet at nearly 1000FPS for around $200. I just looked into this for muskrat control at my dad's house in the city.

Yea, I have a Benjamin 22 just for pest control. I am in the city. Also have a Dasie 177. Scopes on both. Had a skunk issue a while back. I spent some time getting the scope set up and sighted in. Then the skunk quit coming around. Guess thats a good think.

dont ever set traps inside buildings.... incase you catch a damn skunk and when the dog finds it before you and you all get sprayed and then the building takes a year to not smell like a skunk exploded. that was a day from hell. I even accidentally ran over my live trap with the tractor while getting stuck in the mud. whenever I'm having a bad day I just remember that day. haha
