I didn't have the great stuff you guys had but I had a Sansui amp, 9001 I think it was, Kenwood -888 speakers, a dual Technics cassette player, Technics turntable and a well used Teac reel to reel that had one channel that only worked half the time. I'm no music critic but I sure did like that stuff. And being a teenager when I bought it all, it was always cranked. Probably a contributor my hearing loss. Lol.
Hey, at least it wasn't Bose. All of the mfg's were supposed to be really good in the day, especially Sansui. It's getting to be cost prohibitive to try it out though.
Cornwalls as garage speakers? You mad man.
If (when) I upgrade from my Heresys I'd love to try out a set of LaScalas. That's my real dream set of Klipsch. Klipschorns would be awesome but I just have absolutely no place to put them and they're definitely out of my price range anyway.
LoL yes, I got tired of hearing my neighbors with their domestic disputes. I figured if I was going to do something, might as well be over the top about it. Also, these Cornwalls are BEAT. Although my wife liked the look of them, said you can see they have history.
The reviews on the LaScalas leave more to be desired.. A Cornwall uses the same components as a K-horn.. After having listened to both a Cornwall and a Forte II, the Forte II has a smoother top end which reaches farther and deeper bass than the Cornwall. WHich is why I'd like to get my hands on a set of Chorus II's, as those incorporate both a passive radiator and a 15" woofer... Best part is, they can all be had for less than 1,800 right now. There's a set of Cornwalls in my neighborhood for $1,500 right now..
