I think I would look into adding a fan clutch.... that might free up some power after getting rid of the box.

I think if I even bought a box truck, the box would get turned into a nice shed for my lawn mowers and snow blower.
I’ll have to take a look at that. I have no idea where I’d start with that.
Come down to Alabama and take this box off my hands!

I wouldn't be too concerned with the performance yet.
Imagine this:.
The box is removed and you're cruising at 65 miles per hour.
Two fat chicks, weighing 500 pounds each, parachute onto your frame, simulating the weight of the box.
Then they secure and deploy an eight by twelve foot parachute.
This is where you're at now.
Lose the weight and wind resistance and you may be presently surprised.
Of course your rear end ratio will also come into play.

Neat truck.
