Also had my 140amp alternator that I had laying around rebuilt and had them make it a 180amp.
With the 100amp alternator with all of my lights on both fans heater and radio it was charging at 12.7volts and I was still planning on putting a 3rd fan for the trans cooler. Now with the 180amp it runs at 14.3 volts with everything on

I noticed you had rear disc brakes. What did you do for yours?

It’s a 10bolt out of a 2001 Silverado, that I had someone cut the leaf spring perches off and move them in 1/2 to 3/4” on each side. For the driveshaft I just change the ujoint to the correct style.

Oh ok. Thanks. I just recently rebuilt my rear diff so I’ll have to look at other options. Looks good!

If my memory serves me correct, from everything I read up I believe you can swap 95 or 96 impala ss disc brakes pretty easily.

Oh really? That’s good to hear. I’ve got a buddy with a 96 Impala SS so I’ll talk to him. How is the truck with all disc brakes versus drum in the rear?

It’s honestly hard to tell I made with the fact I made so many big changes at once while I had the truck apart for a year especially with the brakes.
I deleted the abs,nbs master cylinder, adjustable proportion valve, 2500ld rotor and calipers, the disc rear all the braided lines. With all of that the truck will lock up all 4 from about 40. But when I’m pulling our 4500lbs boat it stops wayyy quicker than with the drums.
The first rear end that I had in the truck originally with 10” drums didn’t like to stop very well with the boat then the second rear end had the 11” drums that stopped ok. This rear brake set up is probably great for it but I don’t have many miles with them together just around town.
I have a 9.5 14 bolt laying around and when that goes in I know those will make a huge difference with the dual piston calipers and massive rotors
