Keep in mind that there are 2500 series trucks and 2500HD also. I still think if it were me I'd cut and weld to stick with what was there to start with or go full on 2500HD swap with 8 lugs.

If I can get someone to tell me if i can put a half ton ball joint on the 3/4 ton upper control arm, that is what Im going to do. Why change the boxed frame if the dimensions match. In the case that I cant use the 3/4 upper control arm, I will move the brackets and use the haf ton upper control arms.

After doing a little more looking at the frames yesterday, I see that the control arm brackets themselves are not exactly the same. The 3/4 ton bracket comes out and up, and the 1/2 ton bracket comes straight out from the frame. I may put some pics on here later of them if I get a chance. It looks like I can't just move the brackets, I have to cut off the 3/4 ton ones and put back 1/2 ton ones. I think I read the article talking about the frames being thicker, and I think it was on a gmt800 swap.

I can't wait to get the thick one under it, that things shouldn't rust out in my life time.

I want to hear what you think of ride quality before and after. My dually rides way better than my 1500. Flipper dually also rides super nice. I wonder how much the frame is to credit there.

My current frame is boxed behind the cab, and has the newer style rear mounts. Currently it rides like a car, only complaint is the brakes and I have everything sitting to hyrdoboost it when I get time.

Boxed under the bed then? Did you do that or Centurion? That comes off as a strange place to box that frame to me seeing how GM doled out frame thickness. I did the newer rear mounts to my 1500 and like them. Hydroboost is a game changer. One of those mods I knew once I did, I'd wish I'd done sooner, and I was right.
