Hey guys, my name is Paul. I live in north central Idaho. I am the brand new owner of a 1991 Chevy 1500, brand new 4 speed auto and a 5.7 350. It started as someone's project but they hadnt done anything with it in awhile. I was doing some work for them and just asked about it. Paid $1500 for it and it was trailered to my house today.

It runs but it needs some work. Current issues are:

It doesnt want to go when you put the pedal down (havent test driven it myself yet so hard to clarify). The previous owner put in a new fuel pump and filter and that didnt fix the issue. They are convinced it has something to do with the throttle cable needing adjusting since it has a decent sized lift on it. After digging around it seems that it could maybe be the throttle position sensor?

It also needs new exhaust. The exhaust manifolds are still on but the rest of the exhaust is sitting in the bed. I need to get that bolted on first thing so it doesnt sound like a drag car and piss off the neighbors.

Other random fixes like new bushings, various leaks and a new air intake. And the interior is a bit rough. And perhaps someone did a gauge swap? The gauges dont look like anything ive seen when I google/youtube this particular year. Gauges look like they are from a newer (93) model.

Anyway, Ive been digging around this forum for the last couple weeks and its good to see some dedicated people who know these trucks in and out. Much better than ol Bob the builder down the street who knows everything and has 17 random vehicles in his yard (there is a lot of that around here).

Those are the right gauges. Same gauges as my 91.
