That info is over 20 years old now and may no longer be accurate. Magnetic north is constantly moving.

That is interesting, never would have occurred to me. I’m in zone 7 (MS) in 1998 and zone 8 per a 2014 Suburban manual.

We had coordinates and magnetic declination written in marker on a couple of the doors at my last unit. It had been some time since it was written and the mag dec was over 2 degrees off. We're talking over 20 years here.

Not a real update. Just doing my friday routine. Got the battery connected and testing everything making sure nothing dumb pops up. Been letting her get to operating temp and test the ac/heater.
Need to get some real jackstands so I can jack her up and lower the diff. I've been itching to take the rear apart so when the time comes I can just plug n play the new parts lol

So how much of a pain was it to change that ashtray bulb, and how big of a 194 LED will fit in there? You just remove the panel with the cig lighter and 12V ports right? I have the little replacement plastic clips but I've never pulled mine. That bulb is out in both of my '97s and I've been just dealing with it for years.

EDIT - Actually I just found a video on the process in case anyone else is looking.

It's not that bad. I did it years ago. If you take out the ashtray you'll see the clips. Problem for me is it barely lights the tray. So I cut out the connector and installed a led into the tray.
If you do that get the brightess led bulb you can get.
Oh and a close hanger was my best friend to fish it down . In case you loose it

Well nothing big. Did some small stuff today. Added led to my fog lights. Also installed insulation between my column and trim. Last added new led to the bottom corners so it blinks with the lights off.

Forgot who recommended the LEDs but anyways thank you. Worked like you said. :)
