Dorman hinge pins are garbage.

Im sure this has been said before, but,,,, I replaced my hinge pins and bushings maybe 3 months ago, and my door is already sagging. When I first did the install, it was grate. I could close my door with my little finger. Now I can feel it drag on the striker pin as I open it. I looked at the door just before it hit the striker pin, and sure enough, its down again. It was so perfectly aligned after the install. Well like the title says, Dorman kits are trash. Guess I will have one of the mechinest make me a set of bushings that will hold up. The Dorman bushings looked cheap when I installed them, but 3 months, thats ridiculous.

I have replaced these on multiple trucks and its almost always those bushings that break or crack. My S10 is notorious for going bad and if you let them go too long, it bores out the hole in the hinge making you have to replace the entire hinge... which I have done too... it wasnt fun. I have to look into the Cunning Machine bushings.... I agree, the Dormans are poor quality.

There's a lot of ****** door hinge pins out there! April 11th of 2019 I replaced the door hinge pins on the driver's side. Although they got great reviews I am not convinced there any good. These pens took care of the sag, but the door now cracks and pops every time you open or close it

That's a safety feature incase your at the gas station and somebody try's to sneak up on the door and crack it open to take a wallet lol
