The tranny is still hanging in there, about 1200 miles later. It's pretty slow to get into reverse, and will sometimes shutter in reverse (now that I think about it, it seems to have been that way before the fluid change).

I was saving up to get me a rebuilt tranny, but now I was just given a free Pontiac Grand Am, and it needs a whole fuel system, tires, brakes, but is completely rust free.

Once I get it all fixed and sold, I'll buy me a transmission.

The tranny is still hanging in there, and seems fine other than the shudder in reverse.

Anyways, I realized that I have no rear brakes, so I replaced the seized wheel cylinders.

Also I just installed a newer master cylinder to get rid of the spongy brake pedal.

I promised myself that I won't take it across country before I replace the trans, but for now, it's a great vehicle to continue driving through the snow.

Did the new master cylinder help?
