Guess you missed the original post that said still working on trim and mount..
I'm pretty shade-tree, and that's not a "non-conformist" job, that's an "I'm too lazy to do it right" job. Put some trim around it or something to make it look nice if you don't want to hear the negativity. If you were "just waiting" for comments, you're not serious, you're just trolling. Put a little pride into it. We're willing to praise you for your work, if you take the time to make it look nice.

That’s exactly right and my reasoning. It is a TRUCK. That sees ALOT of abuse. Not a mall crawler. Its a deer ******, hog trap haulin, pipeline ridin truck! I dont baby anything i own.
Hahahahahahahaha well after all sometimes we gotta remember.... it's still a truck! Do yourself a favor and grab some thick rubber trim from somewhere, like the thick rubber weather stripping from a door and shove it around the top and right.... then take another pic and post it up. I bet it dosent look so bad then.

I'll admit I dont do much to make my trucks look better. I almost never do anything for cosmetic reasons alone and lean more on the practical side of things... but not always. This is very practical as long as the radio works and dosent fall out. LOL

CHEERS!

On a side note, has anyone tried putting the screen for a backup camera in that spot? I have the aftermarket cubby installed where the factory radio used to be, but I can't figure out any use for it. I have a 1988 Chevy C1500.

yea that's definitely a hack job. people said it wouldn't work because it doesn't. so I wouldn't really count that as "working." I could duct tape a double din to my dash and wire it in, that doesn't count as working either.

Ahh i was waiting for you purists to arrive sorry my customizing doesnt conform to your keep everything factory mindset.

it doesn't take a purist to see that you did a terrible job "customizing"

This thread reminds me of when I noticed the upper part of my ashtray had been carved on. " Started A Thread " I don't understand why the previous owner would carve on the upper part of my ashtray . I bought a truck and 95 and noticed it in 2019..... sounds about right

Eventually I'm going to delete the vents above the original cassette/ Stereo location and add a double den

There are definitely men with skills on this board, looking for to see in the finished product

That would be a great spot for that cubby...off hand I think most of the 4" reverse camera kits with screen would fit pretty nicely.
