Well the owner changed his mind on the truck for now. Looks like I’ll just have to wait. Oh well. Thanks for the help everyone

jump on it next time. Dont give the seller time to think. I picked up a F350 crew cab 4x4 for 2,000 bucks. I parted it out for more than I could get for it if I tried selling it.
For $500 if it’s all there and not hammered as far as rust and body work. You can sell it as parts for more.

The 4.3/5.7 can last a long time. My 89 has 396,000 miles and it’s the original engine. It’s finally starting to burn oil. I’ll buy a crate motor for 1400 bucks and call it a day. I’d like to get a roller cam crate motor but mot sure how that’s gonna work with TBI and california smog

Wish there was a california smog section on here or just smog forum in general where we could have some smog legal mods and parts listed. That would be a wealth of information.

Too bad the owner changed his mind and I agree with the others if it comes up again grab it quick. At that price you could spend even a couple grand getting an engine in it and have a fine truck for many years. Definitely worth it.

it may not need a engine. If it runs fine when it starts but has cranking starting issues it’s a electrical, timing or fuel issue. But for $500.....I would of just bought it and taken it home. If it wasn’t fixable you could sell it abd get your money back. Hell its worth more in parts
