How much room is in between the front of the heat exchanger and the grill? I'm getting my stuff through frozenboost.com and it comes with a 10" fan, website says it's 2.5" thick, wondering if I might be able to squeeze it in front. Put it on a thermal switch like you'd do for old style e-fans
Sorry for the late reply. I don't get on here much. It depends how wide your heat exchanger is. I had to clearance the hood latch support to scoot the heat exchanger over towards the center of the grill and my unit was 2' thick. 2.5" might be a stretch with the GMC grill since it has a larger recessed center opening. Hope this helps

Thanks for the reply. And not too late. It's up and running with the whipple, no intercooler yet. I guess I'll find out

Thought this pic would give you a better idea of the clearance between the grill and the heat exchanger. And mine is only 2" thick.
It's almost right up against the a/c condensor. Just enough clearance so they don't touch. Hope this helps...

Last I looked it was close to 200 in the dead of summer with a 2.75" pulley (3" stock) making all of 4psi here in CO. Stock TB, marine cam and intake, headers. Computer pulls timing to save itself and it's still way better than NA.
whats the purpose of using the marine intake?

It gets the spider crap out of the intake tract and allows the use of normal injectors. This is on a 350.
Still wish I could find one. Ended up getting wynjammer injectors instead. Works pretty good, no fueling problems at all

I snagged my intake back in 2012. Seems they've dried up since then.
