I suggest
I'd also like a set of '15 style tow mirrors.
I definitely suggest it! Not only do i have the F150 console in my truck, I also have that style tow mirror on my '98 K3500. If you do, buy Boost Auto Parts mirrors. Theyre a tad pricey, but so worth it. You will have to take the door panels off and cut into factory wiring for properly working lights, but it looks amazing if you manage to do it properly.

I apologize if this has been mentioned before, but i have an idea!
1) If you want an updated console, I'd recommend looking at a ~'05-'10ish F150/Super Duty console, not the full length one. I put one in my '98 K3500 and it looks really good in there! With it, you get 4 extra cup holders (that are 1000x better than the stock dash ones), a huge console storage compartment, a front map pocket, and a 12v rear outlet. I was able to full time hotwire the 12v outlet to the battery with a 30 amp inline fuse. The grey fits the truck REALLY well, and it wasnt too bad priced. The squareness of the console really fits the truck better than any other console I could have picked. Plus, the console lid is perfect arm rest height for me. I paid like $75 on LKQ and came directly out of an '05 F150 XLT. A pick a part might be cheaper.

What all had to be done to mount this??

I saw a forum about this idea a while back and they did it different than me, but here's what I did.
The trans tunnel angles down so I had to add a block of wood below the console to level it out. I think it started out as a chunk of 2x6 or something that I used a sander and angled to match the slope of the console. I then drilled 2 holes in the chunk to where the 2 rear console bolt holes line up.
Since my truck originally had a 60/40 bench, I used one of the old seat mount bolt holes to bolt the wood down to the floor pan. I also countersunk the bolt so it sits flush with the wood and doesnt interfere with the console height.
So now the block is tight to the floorboard. I then put in 2 screws into the wood through the rear console bolt holes.
Ford used 4 bolt holes on the entire console to hold it to the floor. The 2 front holes I then just drilled through the floor and stuck a nut and bolt to hold it down.
I need to get more pictures and I should have taken more when I did it, but that was over a year ago. I'll try to get some pictures of the finished product. It's kinda hard when the truck is over 1000 miles away.
