Good morning!

I am a licensed automotive technician and I have a 99 Gmc K2500 8600lb gvw 5.7 Vortec 4x4 rclb with 3.73 axles.

Last night I picked up a set of 4.10 front and rear axles from a k2500 to swap into my truck.

I found a 1999 Gmc 3500 2wd srw cab and chassis with a 4.10 rear diff. Can I put this full floating axle from a 2wd cab and chassis into my 4x4 truck?

Thanks Jeff

So you say you found a K2500 rear axle and then you say you found a C3500 rear axle? You picked up both?

Are you trying to gain full float and 4.10s?

Unfortunately, the cab and chasis rear end is narrower the 14 bolt from the regular trucks, so that won't work.

Is the 14 bolt from the K2500 not a full floater?

Cab and chassis frame rails are narrower, do you know for sure the perches are also narrower on the axle housing? I will say 2wd is narrower than 4wd on the regular trucks and SUVs.
