Since I had a little budget, I started looking around Craigslist for a 4L80E trans. I found a few that were ok, but as me and my friend were finishing up a trip to the junkyard, I spotted a truck in the back row. It was a 2500 garbage truck and the transfer case was already gone, so it was an easy pull, and only 90 bucks. I had about 200k and looked like it was in good shape.

My May project was disassembly of the trans. A lot of people are scared of these things but to me it's one of my favorite projects.

Moving on to June 2016, interior work time. I removed the wad of aftermarket harness for my keyless entry which didn't work, and took the dash out. I swapped in an automatic brake pedal and removed the clutch pedal. I took the opportunity to replace the defroster door which I had in my garage for 5 years.

Just curious, is that ratchet wrench an SK plug wrench (I think that's what they called it)? I have 1 that's ~30 years old and love it the way it pivots on the head.
