Whenever I’m driving the truck and need to brake when I press down on them they make this pressure sound like extra air. When I press on them continually the brakes get stiff. I recently got my transmission rebuilt. Any ideas what it could be? I was thinking they need to be bleed but not 100% sure.

Ok jw what kind of set up you had for (abs) I agree if your petal stiff or making sound. Kinda like a constant squeak. Then it sounds like a brake booster.. if it's original then may be due for a new one anyways. Brake master cylinder doesn't have to be replaced but if you redo the booster highly recommend it.. I know a few guys who changed there boosters and had to disconnect the brake lines...

Brake booster not to bad I got a 98 c1500 suburban. I didnt have to disconnect my brake lines but I've heard otherwise on other forums. My master cylinder is fairly new btw. Thats why I didnt replace it when I did my booster. If it was original then it would of came out and I would of put a gmt800 master cylinder.. also brake booster sometimes come with a grey finish..... PAINT IT. I didnt cause it was suppose to be better finish... got some surface rust and I live in south east texas..... no salt roads or stuff like that
